The menu of the hotel restaurant was needed for the dining scene to take place. However, another layer of interpretation is intentionally added in the prop for the featuring of Boy with an Apple painting, which is a relevant piece in the film, but an element yet to be introduced in the story. In fact, the painting plays a central role in the story, but in the menu, a watercolor reproduction is intentionally featured instead of a photographic copy, giving the impression that it was created as a tribute to the original.
