After escaping prison, Gustav calls the Society of Crossed Keys, a discreet brotherhood of concierges who owe one another help under a shared code of loyalty, competence, and “service above all” through a public phone. During this series of calls, the film shows the keychain of each hotel on screen alongside the ringtone, helping the viewer keep track of which concierge is being contacted: from the Château Luxe and Palazzo Principessa to the Ritz Imperial and the Côte du Cap.
